Officially our property
So on the 16th November the home we had negotiated to buy had become ours. It was a really busy day for us. We loaded up the three children into the car and our first stop was the school. We had a parent/teacher meeting for our eldest child. All went really well, especially as he has only been there a few months.
Next, we were going to the Notary office in Pescara to officially take possession of the house. It wasn’t simple as we had to have an official translator and another representative with power of attorney to sign the deed on our behalf. Just over an hour later, we were handed the keys.
With much excitement we stopped at McDonald’s on the way back as the kids were hungry. We debated should we go and look at the property on the way back as it was gone 9pm by then. We did stop just so we could take a look around. Oddly we couldn’t find one of the bathrooms initially! We remembered we had seen it but it seemed to have disappeared. Actually it was just off the internal staircase between the two apartments!
Leo, owner of Pino Verde across the street saw us arrive. He asked us what we would like to drink, as he insisted on bringing us drinks over from the restaurant. Shortly after he was back with drinks, crisps and fresh bread on a tray. So, we could toast our new home. He was so thoughtful, and it was a lovely way to celebrate 😊
Now, the work begins….
